Let Me Tell ya bout Mexico

Alright so let me tell you a little bit about this place haha. My first area in the mish is Alamo. It's way up North and it took 6 hours in a bus and an hour in a taxi to get there from the mission home. Let me tell ya it's nothing I'm used to at all. When I tell you it's hot, I mean it's hot, and not just hot, if you check the weather it's probably about 90% humid as well. And I lived in Arizona, and this Still feels hotter, I've learned that you just have to be used to being wet all the time, and not just from the rain! But the worst part about all this humidity and heat has got to be the bathrooms!! When you go to the bathroom it's a little room, no Windows, no air flow, and I'll tell you I've never dripped sweat so bad going to the bathroom.

But this place is beautiful. It's so green and flourishing, there's a few rivers and streams, it's kind of like a jungle almost. There's all kinda of animals running around, dogs, cats, chickens, cows, goats, and lizards. They are kinda gross but you just get used to it I guess. Id say I'm getting used to this place pretty well right now, except for all the annoying bugs,  I don't think I'll ever get used to that.

The food here is amazing too haha. I haven't had that much weird stuff though. Id say the weirdest things I've had is agua de plátano, which is banana water, it was so good though I drank so much of it. Then we had pig skin as like a topping for some tostadas we ate, it was basically like jello with just a little bit of Spice, it wasn't bad at all. But other than that we eat a lot of American food here too haha. I've had Little Ceasar;s 3 times already, hot dogs, Burger King, and some chinese food too haha. But id say the Best thing here are the homemade breads and pasteries. They are to die for I'll tell ya. And there's so mano different kinds to buy too. Soooo goooood, I'm craving some just writing about it haha.

My house is humbling, very humbling, I couldn't describe it to you that's how different it is. But we live on a top floor right above our bishop, so we get treated pretty well haha.

Also Church is fun, it's not that much different than what I'm used to, except I had to gave a talk last Sunday. Apparently, my first Sunday after Church someone from the 1st counselor came up to me and asked if I would gave a talk the next Sunday. I had no Idea what was goin on because i couldn't understand, but apparently I said yes haha. I had no idea! So my companion reminded me Saturday night at 9pm that I had a talk, so I quickly tried to write one up that night before Church, but don't worry, I think i did a pretty dang good Job haha. There's just a little story, Lots more where that came from.

If you guys have any specific questions you want to ask me, make sure you email me jack.raymond@missionary.org I love getting emails haha. I love you all and miss you!!
