Mexico Babyyyy
If you want a good story you should read this email!
So I in México now! But it wasn't easy to get here unfortunately. When I got to the México city airport I only had an hour layover and I Still had to go through immigrations. And yup, immigrations took that full hour, so I missed my flight to my mission! Luckily I had 2 other missionaries with me that missed the same flight to Veracruz so I wasn't alone. But we didn't know what to do, we couldn't speak the language And we didn't have phones to call anyone Either, so we were kinda hopeless. Luckily there was a former stake president at the airport that day who was able to help us. He let us use his phone to call the mission And he helped us out by guiding us around the airport for about an hour. We had no idea what he was doing But we followed anyways haha. Then he left us because he had a flight. Then we were left alone again And Still had no idea what we were doing. So we tried to talk to the aeromexico desk people, and they spoke English! We were never so happy to hear English haha. We told them what happened And they scheduled another flight for us at 9 that night. We were so relieved. We got to our flight gate And just waited. Then when we got up to show our tickets, me And one of the other missionaries I was with couldn't get on the flight! While the third one was able to, we Still don't know what haha. So we had to say bye to our friend While me And the other missionary had just missed our second flight of the day, which happened to be the last flight to Veracruz that day! They said they couldn't let us on the flight because they didn't know were our bags were ( they were in Veracruz). So we had to go to baggage claim service And it took them an hour to verify where our bags were, Then we had to go schedule our next flight at 7 in the morning which took another hour. By that time it was almost midnight And we had to find some benches to sleep on in the airport! And right when we started to fall asleep these 2 guys from the México city MTC came And woke us up! I guess they were there to check on us. They bought us food And verified our flight And then left, and that took probably An hour as well. So by that time it was almost 2 in the morning And we had only gotten like 3 hour of sleep before we got to our flight. But we made it on! And we were off to our missions! This experience was really faith building for me And it grew my testimony a lot on prayer. J was praying a lot that day. And I never felt nervous I was always peaceful because I know God was answering my prayers.
But México is awesome. It's literally completely different than I'm used to. I'll share more about it in my next Email because I don't want to make this one too long. There is soooo much to share!
I have a few pictures I can share though haha
1 and 2) my companion is elder Duran he's super cool. He doesn't speak English like at all though so it is hard to communicate but it's getting a lot better. He's from Tijuana and he only has one month left before he goes home.
3) we take taxis everywhere around here and they are really cramped. But it's also kinda Tiring so I fell asleep on this random Mexican guys shoulder haha. I don't think he was as happy as I was at that time hahaha.
